In the morning over 20
Key Stage 2 children from 10 different schools spent the morning
drawing from a weird and wonderful collection of objects
including stuffed birds, old tvs and typewriters. They created
their own weird and wonderful compositions from combining the
objects. The students watched carefully as Anna made an owl come
to life on the paper and learned new drawing techniques before
producing their own artwork, upright at an easel.
In the afternoon 15 KS1 students were inspired by Anna’s love of
birds which feature in nearly all her current artwork.
Their
imaginations went wild whilst trying to work out why there were
birds in washing machines, cats on tvs and ballroom dancers
dancing in the shopping isles!
The artwork produced by both groups of students was just
amazing, with some clear artistic talent developing in South
Gloucestershire in the very near future.
The students went home feeling confident in their new skills,
with their self-esteem high, having been identified as having a
particular artistic talent.

The children went straight back to school to show their work off
to their teachers and pass on their skills to their classmates.
Thank you to everyone who took part in this fun and lively
drawing day!
