The University of the West of England is offering an
opportunity for Heads / Deputies who have an NPQH to
accredit that learning towards a Masters Degree in the
faculty.
Having a Teaching Qualification (PGCE plus QTS or a BEd/Ba (QTS);
or an older Teaching Certificate gains 30 credits. The
NPQH experience then can be accredited through 4 x 1000 work
commentaries on 4 aspects of the NPQH learning. This
is done with workshop support (two sessions) which can gain
90 credits. This total of 120 credits is equivalent to
a Postgraduate Diploma or can go towards the MA (180
credits). If the MA path is chosen then this means the
candidate would go straight into the Researching Education
Module before proceeding to their dissertation.
We feel that 4 x 1000 words reviewing how the NPQH has moved
on their learning is not too onerous a task and makes short
work of a Masters degree - if that is what is desired.
Some Heads have already expressed an interest and enrolled.
There are two workshops planned for:
- Thursday October 6th 7.00 - 7.00 pm
- Thursday February 2nd 5.00 - 7.00 pm
