The National Academy is now undertaking a revision of the Loc8or
process that will both simplify and accelerate selection and
admission for you and your students. This is in response
to feedback from colleagues in schools who have indicated that
whilst the rigour of Academy selection is highly regarded, the
application process can be seen as time consuming.
Under the new, streamlined admissions procedure students will
be admitted to interim membership of the Academy on the
recommendation of the school or other approved recommending
body. Full membership will be awarded if, in the
Academy's view, the student satisfies one of the indicative
entry criteria and if the student confirms that they wish to
join. As the gifted and talented professional, you are
asked to provide the Academy and the advisor for Gifted and
Talented - Liz Townend - a list of students for whom you
consider Academy membership would be appropriate. Click
here to request an application pack.
