Using digital media in the classroom
A look at the work of digital Media Education Centre in Exeter
|
Tim Arnold Adviser for Digital Media Education, Devon
Curriculum services (DCS)
|
The work of the digital Media Education Centre is primarily
concerned with ways
in which digital media technologies can enhance the quality of
education for school
students by providing high quality training and classroom
resources. A key area
has been the use of digital video in the classroom. In
particular, training packages and guides on the uses of digital
video editing have been developed. In partnership with City
Screen, DCS organise a film-making scheme, Devon Youth Film, to
provide young people with experience of writing, directing,
editing and acting in their own productions. DCS also
specialise in the use of video conferencing to support teaching
and learning. |
