Understanding and assessing ICT Capability and its
progression in the Primary Curriculum
|
Julian Nietrzebka National Strategies -Regional Adviser
|
This session will explore materials
being developed by the National Strategies
to support educators in both teaching and assessing ICT in
schools. It will show
the differences between capability and skills through subject
examples and make
the progression of capability explicit. The session will explore
the implications for
teachers and teaching relating to planning, assessing and
reaching agreement on
standards. Links to the revised frameworks for English and
mathematics and to other
strategy resources will be made clear. The examples will show
how ICT capability
can be delivered through a mixture of a core entitlement and
further enhancement
and consolidation within the extended curriculum. The session
will briefly introduce
supporting resources designed to support schools in taking this
work further forward.
