Progress report submitted by Valerie Quest, March
2004:
|
|
"...YR bell work. Activities are put out on tables
for the children to undertake as they enter the classroom.
These vary. Sometimes they have a Literacy or Numeracy
focus, other times they might be fine motor control activities
such as cutting. They can also involve sorting or
construction. At times the children will be guided to a
specific task, although often they have the choice. The
teacher said that often the children who need extra 'cutting
out' practice choose to do this without direction, because it is
a novelty - ie they have not done very much at home! She
is delighted with the impact bell work is having each morning -
the children are more settled and ready to learn."
