Improving Reading CD Rom ref 1557-2005CD0-EN.  This provides a wide range of support materials for English subject leaders, teachers and librarians.  It has lots of downloadable information, examples and suggestions - a must in relation to aspects of reading!

Improving Reading: A Department Handbook ref DfES 1523-2005FLR-EN.  This offers detailed guidance to facilitate English departments in their planning for, teaching and assessing of reading.  Its systematic approach from information gathering, to reviewing progress sits very closely alongside aspects of the English department's work in relation to the SEF.  This is a really useful, practical resource.
