Meeting held on Wednesday 7th July 2004
Main agenda items:
- Update session on current issues led by Diane Owen -
Teaching and Learning Adviser (Maths)
- Assessment Manager: Making progress with the use of
Assessment Manager led by Steve Baxter - Information &
Performance Data Manager
- Fischer Family Trust Data: Training on this new Pupil
Level Value Added data and it's applications led by Tom Morrison
- Statistics and Research Officer
The sessions on the use of data were found to be extremely
useful. Many participants were keen to access further
training on the Assessment Manager. These are the training

Meeting held on Thursday 11th November 2004
Main agenda items:
- Update session on current issues led by Diane Owen -
Teaching and Learning Adviser (Maths)
- Ofsted report: a brief open discussion of issues arising
from the report on Mathematics in Secondary Schools (published
February 2004)
- Meeting the needs of gifted and talented mathematicians: a
session led by Julia Mabey, LEA Advisor, with responsibility
for Gifted and Talented pupils
- A review of issues at GCSE: Diane Owen and Mark Herring
(AST) led a session based on new Key Stage 4 Network
materials recently published by the strategy
- Future meetings: a discussion of key items to include in
the future

Meeting held on Monday 7th March 2005
Main agenda items:
- A session on Work Related Learning led by Pam Hayes (Post
14 Advisory Teacher). There was also a brief input from
Sally Graf from Natwest/RBS - Face to Face with Finance.

- Update from the recent QCA conference: Diane Owen summarised
some of the key items covered during the conference.
There was also an overview of the support materials available
on the QCA website on the implications of the 2004 Key Stage 3
tests.

Meeting held on Tuesday 14th June 2005
This meeting was held at Downend School and the main theme
was the use of ICT to support the teaching and learning of
mathematics.
Main agenda items:
- Update sessions on current issues led by Diane Owen
- Using data projectors and interactive whiteboards
The main session focused on how the use of interactive
whiteboards is being developed in a number of schools and
included contributions from:

Mike Randall (King Edmunds)
Symon Corns (Marlwood)
