Time for Reflection> Social Harmony
|
I think social harmony is being happy when
others are around you and when you are on your own. If
you are on your own it is possible to be happy, friends do not
need to be around for you to be happy. I also think it
is having friends and not having enemies or grudges against
anyone. If everyone had grudges against people and kept
the grudges for the rest of their life then no one would ever
be happy. You need to be happy because that is what
social harmony is. Friends help each other; I think that
is part of social harmony.
I think everyone should be king to everyone else; everyone
should get on with everyone else.
Socialising in harmony, keeping control is also part of it.
Keeping peace when someone is talking, for example in class,
when someone is talking everyone keeps quiet and keeps peace.
If everyone around you isn't calm you should still try to stay
calm, it may be harder when everyone else isn't but calm is
the way it should be.
Friends don't always have to agree, but when friends don't
agree, I don't think they should fall out.
Everyone should respect others. If everyone kept on
falling out with friends then the world wouldn't be very
pleasant, I would much rather everyone be friends and no one
falling out. If no one ever fell out the world would be
the perfect place to live.
What do you think social harmony is about?
Social harmony can be different to everyone; most people would
describe social harmony like I just have.
Social harmony can happen all the time it may even be
happening to you right now.

What does it mean?!
Social harmony has many meanings. Loyalty and trust are
very important in any relationship and should be believed in
by everyone.
Social harmony is happening between almost everyone. You
may not even realise it. Although this is true, it is
not true in ALL cases.
People may disagree on things and have different views on
things than their friends but still can be very close.
So what does social harmony REALLY mean!? Well,
obviously when you have friends you should trust them and care
about them. Sticking up for someone when they're in a
horrible situation like bullying, then it is often very hard
to keep to your friend's side but this is part of social
harmony. Sticking together!
You must be happy when you're with your friends but although
this may seem rather weird, it is part of social harmony.
Peace. This is also social harmony. Everyone
should be allowed to have his or her say anywhere. In
classrooms, youth clubs, or even in your own group of friends.
Getting on. Getting on with members of a big gang can be
hard sometimes. If you are friends with just a couple of
people from the group and these friends are friends with other
members it doesn't necessarily mean you want to be mates
too. But being friends and just getting on together is
not the same thing. You could like the person but not be
great friends with them. This is also social harmony.
Staying calm. Staying calm in a big group is often hard
but it can be done. This is social harmony too.
All of the things I have discussed in this piece of work is
social harmony. Are you, part of it!?
