Teaching Staff>
Fast Track
The programme is designed for teachers in the first five years of
their careers and new entrants to the profession. Fast Track teachers
are people who recognise how effective leadership can make a difference
in education and who have the ability, enthusiasm and commitment to
develop into the leaders of the future.
To join, you will need to make the most of the opportunities that the
programme provides, taking early responsibility and developing the
skills you already have, while learning new ones. You should be prepared
to look beyond your own school and take advantage of Fast Track’s
regional, national and online networks to find ideas and resources that
will help you to contribute to the improvement and development of
education as a whole.
To become a Fast Track teacher, you will be:
• Registered with the General Teaching Council for England, with
Qualified Teacher Status in any subject;
• At no more than point five on the Main Pay Scale;
• A graduate with usually at least a 2:1 degree, or a 2:1 degree with a
postgraduate qualification (eg. an MA, MSc or PhD).
Fast Track is committed to equality of opportunity for all. We value and
welcome diversity, and positively encourage applications from people of
all backgrounds.
As a Fast Track teacher you will also receive a laptop computer and a
digital camera for use in the classroom to prepare and present lessons –
all backed up by free helpdesk support. In addition, you can apply for
funding to buy other ICT equipment that will benefit your teaching and
help you to achieve your career objectives.
Your Headteacher can find more details on this simple process and
