Leaders of Learning website Leaders of maintained nurseries offered choice of mandatory qualificationFrom 31st December, first-time headteachers of maintained nursery schools will be exempt from the National Professional Qualification for Headship (NPQH), provided they hold the National Professional Qualification in integrated Centre Leadership (NPQICL) or are working towards it. This change in legislation has been introduced to recognise the specific requirements of those working in an early years multi-agency setting. NPQICL equips managers and headteachers to lead centres that provide integrated care for children, bringing together education, health and social services. |
