SENCOs
Standards Framework
These are being amended this year and should be available in
September at which point we will link into the new standards on our
website.
"The Training and Development Agency for Schools (TDA) has developed
some examples showing how the national standards for special educational
needs co-ordinators (SENCOs) can be used in practice - you can download
these using the link below:
http://www.tda.gov.uk/upload/resources/pdf/s/senco.pdf
The examples show how the SENCO standards can be used by schools,
local authorities and training providers to secure improvement in the
educational provision for pupils with special educational needs (SEN) in
line with the government's strategy for SEN, Removing barriers to
achievement. The strategy document may also be downloaded from
this page using the link below:
http://www.teachernet.gov.uk/wholeschool/sen/senstrategy/
The examples should be read in conjunction with the national SENCO
standards and the SEN specialist standards.
You can obtain these publications from the TDA publications line."
