Toolkit
|
|
The WRL toolkit is a staff development resource,
designed to support the effective delivery of WRL in schools, collages and
training provider establishments.
The toolkit has been planned collaboratively under
the management of the LEA Curriculum Advisors network ( LEA CAN 14+) with
funding from the Dfes, LEA’s, CIEH, Cfa and FEDA. The toolkit is
essentially an organic document – it continues to grow, as practice in
the use of WRL in local areas develops.
The toolkit is based upon the understanding that WRL
is an essential part of students’ experiences in school, that help
prepare pupils’ for adult life and secure progression to future
learning, training and/or employment. The toolkit is based upon the
following principles that underpin effective WRL :
- WRL
is for all students of all abilities. There should be some WRL for
all students and more for some
- WRL
includes out of school activity that underpins students’ experience
of the school curriculum
- Staff
development is at the centre of provision
